Bubble Rolls

Isn't it funny how smells can transport you back in time? This morning as I was preparing my contribution to our MOPS breakfast, the smell of my kitchen took me back about 20 years to my momma's kitchen on holiday mornings and special occasions.
These bubble rolls are such a yummy treat but we only had them about twice a year. I wanted to share the recipe with you this morning so that you too can experience the joy of baking bubble rolls!

Bubble Rolls

18 Rhodes Frozen Dinner Rolls (though you can use other brands, we are loyal to the Rhodes company as we find they consistently raise well! You can also use home made dough and just adapt the recipe to fit!)
1 small box of Butterscotch Cook & Serve Pudding (not instant!)
1 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Nuts (optional)
2 teaspoons Cinnamon
1 cube (1/2 cup) of butter

Oven Temp 350 degrees
Bake Time 35 minutes

Spray bunt pan or large baking pan with butter spray. Place frozen rolls in baking pan.
Melt butter and mix in Cinnamon, brown sugar, nuts and dry pudding mix. Pour mixture over the top of the frozen rolls. Let the rolls rise according to the directions (typically 6-7 hours) Place the raised rolls in preheated oven for 35 minutes. Turn onto serving platter, and watch them disappear!!!!

note: My mother used to "fix" these the night before and put the oven on timed bake. She would let them raise all night in the cold oven & then the timer would start the baking about 45 minutes before breakfast time! It was a quick and easy solution to holiday breakfasts!
